Hair, Make-up and Wardobe

Emily and I previously completed some research into existing advertisement look trends. This has

helped us to come together with the outfit that our models will wear in the shoot. Emily is in control of

creating the models look and doing their hair and make up. I am assisted  her with picking the clothing.

Girls

The girls will all wear pyjamas, Ireland will wear a white top and patterned bottoms, Paige will wear matching long sleeved top and bottoms, Mary will wear a tight fitting onesie and Ciara will wear fleece long sleeved top and long bottoms. The variety of pyjamas that they will wear will show our range of products that our store will sell.

The girls will all wear their hair down to get a natural bed time look and they will also wear minimal makeup to show the audience a realistic view of how good you can look in 'Tyler Holmes' pyjamas . Also are high end and elegant looking and we believe these models portray that.

Niamh

Niamh is going to wear a long grey jumper with a roll neck and black jeans and boots. This is a fashionable warm winter look which is key for what we are looking for in  our advert. Niamh’s hair will be down and flowly and hair tucked behind her ear but shows  her natural soft curls to add to that natural look. Her makeup will be natural so the attention is mainly on the clothing, therefore makeup is to a minimum.

Sean

Sean will be wearing a navy wooly jumper and black skinny jeans.  Emily chose this outfit for Sean because he must look fashionable and attractive, which we think this current look does. We asked him to grow his facial hair and Emily styled his fringe up in a quiff to ensure he was following the trend and look that we are looking for, also Sean didn't wear makeup.

Josh

Musau

The boys will wear black jeans and different Christmas jumpers to show current festive fashion. The jumpers are bright colours which is important so they stand out. Also the boys have short haircuts which is current and fashionable, however they will wear no makeup because we want them to represent young boys.

Equipment and Software

Home Advert
Canon HG-10: We chose this camera because of the good quality film and it is small so easily transport around location and has basic settings so easy to operate also.

Tripod: The tripod ensured the film is of good quality because using this avoids having a shaky video. We can also control and change the angles and camera movements with the tripod.
Mac: We used this when editing videos and songs for our final productions because it is easy to use and is better to keep all of our work in one place.
iMovie: I used this when editing the videos that we film on the Canon Camera to make into our final Home Advert.
Garage band: We will use this to edit the soundtrack for our advert, because at different parts of the advert the music will change e.g. volume.

Fashion Advert
Cannon Camera HG-10 and EOS 1100: For this advert we used four cameras to catch the different angles of an action. For example during the pillow fight scene this is useful rather than repeating the action over and over again to film the different angles. We will also use a Cannon EOS 1110 with a wide angle lens for filming the hand switch-over for the transitions between each scene.
Tripod: We used 4 tripods, one for each camera to set the cameras at the right angles for the height and number of people in the shot.

Mac: As there are number videos we have recorded, we must keep them in one place because it's best to download all of the video onto the same computer as it is easier when we edit our work.
iMovie: As we have used many cameras there will be lots of video to edit so this is the best software to use.
Garage band: In this advert for the soundtrack we are using a song and a Christmas jingle so garage band will allow us to edit the music into one soundtrack. Then we can easily put it into iMovie.
Backdrop in studio: In our fashion advert we used the white and the black back drop as we think it gives a professional look to the advert.
Web pop up
Camera EOS 1100: We used this Cannon camera to take photos of our models; this gave us good quality photos to use in our web pop-up.
Tripod: We put the camera on the tripod to keep it steady; we could then change the height and angle of the camera.
Photo editor: We used photo editor to edit the photos for example making them brighter and changing the colour of the backgrounds.
Sponsorship sequence
Camera Cannon Camera HG-10 and EOS 1100: For this we also used 4 Cannon cameras then a different Cannon camera (EOS 1100) for the transitions because this advert and the fashion advert are similar.
Tripod: We used 4 tripods, one for each camera to set the cameras at the right angles for the height and number of people in the shot.
iMovie: We chose again to use iMovie so we keep all of our work together and also its easy to use.

Garage band: As this advert is shorter we needed to make the soundtrack shorter which garage band allows us to do.

Props list

In order to create the advert we need prop. We need to include the technical things. So in order for us to have a successful filming trip in London we needed to take along the tripod and bipod. These allowed for us to have steady shots that looked fairly professional.  We also needed the cameras, and spare batteries so that we were fully prepared in case of the battered going flat.

Home Advert
Christmas tree and decorations
Phone for camera
Christmas presents
Wrapping paper, sellotape
Cooking equipment

These props were used in the home advert for the couple to use. They are all activities that the audience would relate to Christmas for example decorating the Christmas tree, making Christmas food and wrapping presents. The phones needed because in the advert the mum takes a photo of them. All of the props are products that the department store will sell so it is subtle advertisement.
Risk: There are no risks.

Fashion Advert
Fake snow: We used this as Christmas weather is associated with snow. We used it in the scene with young children because snow is fun and exciting. Also when children wake up and see snow they want to play in it so we thought using the snow with the children was appropriate.

Feathers and pillows: We used these in the scene with girls in pajamas so they could have a pillow fight. The feathers made the scene look more realistic and helped the models to get involved and have fun.

Confetti cannons: We used the confetti in the scene with the young men as it is sophisticated which is appropriate as they were advertising smart suits.

Fan: We used a large fan because it was powerful so it blew all the feathers, snow and confetti around the shot. From our tests, using this fan made the videos look better and more professional.
Costumes: For each scene we needed our models to wear different outfits. Firstly the young boys wore Christmas jumpers, the girls wore pyjamas and the young men wore smart suits. Each scene represents a different department of our store so we had to show this through what they wore.
Mistletoe: We used this in the scene with the couple, it is known at Christmas time for kissing when people walk under it.
Risk: Catching hair in the fan.
To overcome this risk ensured that anyone using the fan must have long hair tied up and loose clothing secured.

Web-pop up-
Coats and winter clothing: Our models had to wear coats as this is what this advert is advertising because warm clothing is a necessity at Christmas.

Risk: There were no risks.

Sponsorship sequence-

Juggling balls
Pack of cards
 Rubix cube
Guitar
As our sponsorship sequence is sponsoring a talent show, in each scene the models are showing different talents and activities. This made it easier to film because the models were enjoying what they were doing so this shows in the videos. This would make people want to buy things from our store because they would want to be happy which is portrayed though our adverts.

Risk: Making sure when the models were juggling that they were careful not to hit any of the equipment which could cause to any damage.
