Editing

After filming, we were then able to start creating and editing our final adverts. We will downloaded the film onto the Mac into IMovie so then we could begin editing. . Emily was in control of editing  for Fashion advert and filming of the home advert and as i was in control of the filming for fashion and editing for home. We collectively selected the certain clips to put our two adverts together.
Advert 1 - Home
We chose the accurate clips we needed and cropped it to a suitable length therefore the advert was not too long. We slowed down or speeded up certain clips so that it fitted with the music and looked better and were the important clips we wanted our audience to remember.  We auto’ed the clips so they were all the same colour and tint and looked HD. We detached the audios from all of the videos as we talked and were directing our models to what to do which the camera picked up. We then added the necessary soundtrack by downloading the track and then selecting the right sound and dragging it into iMovie and editing the music to be length and speed we want.

Advert 2 - Fashion

After creating the soundtrack for this advert and downloading the film off all four camera we used, we were used able to create our final advert. The soundtrack was edited so it fitted certain parts of clips that matched the lyrics and the beat of the music. We chose the accurate clips we needed and cropped it to a suitable length therefore the advert was not too long. We slowed down or speed up certain clips so that it fitted with the music and looked better and were the important clips we wanted our audience to remember.  We clicked on 'auto' the clips so they were all the same colour and tint and looked HD. We detached the audios from all of the videos as we talked and were directing our models to what to do which the camera picked up. We also added our brand name and text at the end and used some special effects of sparkle which fits with our christmas theme as the end of our advert.

Brand Name
When editing our brand name at the end we wanted it to be memorable and have a bit of a Christmas vibe and magical. Therefore we selected this theme called 'Pixie Dust, brought a magical and sprakle feel at the end of the adverts/sequence. We selected it and linked it in to the sound track and the text so that the when the pixie dust came the words will appear giving it that magic appeal.

Soundtrack
We used garage band to crate our soundtrack. We brought a Christmas jingle which fits with the Christmas advert at the beginning and ‘Sax’ by Fleur East. We used the fading tool to make the jingle fad our as Sax begins and flows in at a good time. This allows the volume to decrease so the jingle subtly fades out.  The jingle is a non-diegetic and is important as it is the first thing that the audience will hear so the use of the jingle will make it obvious that the advert is about Christmas. Using garage band easily allowed us to save the soundtrack and out it onto our advert on IMovie.

When it came to our sponsor sequence, we added a voice over at the end. We used the fade button on iMovie so that the soundtrack would become quieter than the voice over, therefore the voice over/ digetic sound to be clearly heard but the music to see still be in the background. We also made show the time of the voice over the words 'Sponsor by BGT' will appeal on the screen therefore we had to check everything was timid right.

Adding images
At the end of our home advert the mum takes a picture of the couple and then we show the image afterwards. We created a polaroid inserting the image and we had to select and insert the image into iMovie and pressed fit so you could see the whole image.

Tests

For our fashion advert and sponsorship sequence we had planned to use a green screen but now we going to use the black backdrop in the studio.

Confetti Test

We did tests with confetti, snow and feathers. Our test of the confetti, was to show us how it will look at the end of our advert and how much is the confetti cannon and if we need to use a fan to make more of an affect and look dramatic. We stuck Emily in that position as it is gives a good effect and the fan can catch the confetti and circulate around dramatically.  We will get the boys in suit to pop the confetti at the climax of our fashion advert, it will be dramatic and bring that sense of fun and excitement to our audience

Snow test
The first time we tested using the snow, it was unsuccessful because we used a small fan and the snow was limited because it was only on one side of the show. However when it snows it doesn’t just fall from one side so therefore we decided to use a bigger and more powerful fan. This was successful as it blew all the snow across the shot and made it look more realistic. We will use the snow for the little boys as younger children usually like the snow and with the Christmas jumpers it will present that element of winter and Christmas effectively.

Feather test
We did this tests to determine the amount of feather we will need in our pillow fight. Also how they will look when the girls hit one another with the pillows. We also needed to see if we needed a fan so they feathers would create an effective impact and looked like a real pillow fight. We used the black background for the feathers and also the snow so we could see them more clearly. However may have to use a white background when we use the feather with the girls due to it bringing it more light and will contrast well with their skin and look more brighter than the black and also if there is a huge amount of feathers used they should be visible.
Hand test

For our fashion advert we tested different types of lenses to see which one would be suitable to use for the transitions between different scenes in advert 2 (clothes) which will have different groups of people in the advert transiting from one another. Firstly we used telephoto lens, this was unsuccessful because the camera was too far away therefor not allowing the hand to cover the screen and then therefore not giving the effect and some transition we were aiming for. Following this we experimented with a wide angle lens which worked much better as the hand covered the screen fully. We will use this in our fashion advert and sponsorship sequence in transition between each group/scene which will create fun and cool feel to our advert.
